“Guardian MPS provides technology solutions to allow mobile and lone workers to operate with the knowledge that, in the event of an attack or other emergency, they can get help at the touch of a button. In addition, employers can show compliance to OSHA requirements for 5(a)(1) where there is a requirement to provide a work environment that provides safety from known hazards – working alone.

This technology can be accessed by a Smartphone app and a dedicated small device which a worker can discreetly carry with them. When an alarm is raised on the phone or device, back-end technology co-ordinates the people and resources to respond, providing position data and audio.

The dedicated device, offered by Guardian MPS uses its own SIM card and connectivity to communicate with Guardian’s servers. This includes the use of data, SMS, and voice to provide redundancy.

Given the large number of devices operating in the field, it is also important to be able to view and manage SIM connections through a management portal, to ensure that all services are operating normally and at optimal cost.

Above all else, the service that Guardian MPS provides must be reliable, with the confidence that in the event of a service issue, this will be resolved quickly. Further redundancy is provided with access to at least two mobile networks, to ensure that regardless of their location and network coverage, they can always access at least one network.

As the service provided requires redundancy and reliability, connectivity requirements were relatively complex, voice and SMS were needed as well as data, in conjunction with a service which could access multiple networks. Access to a management platform that was powerful, intuitive and easy to use was another requirement to enable closely managed connectivity. Trafalgar Wireless was a company known to our CEO, which provided a level of confidence that the project would be approached with the necessary professionalism. Trafalgar were also able to deliver all our requirements, for a very reasonable cost.

Our relationship with Trafalgar is now a couple of years old and they have delivered exactly what they said they were going to deliver and have done so with the utmost professionalism and reliability. Their support and customer care has been exceptional, to the extent that we regard them as part of our team.

There are many companies offering what appear to be almost identical services in this market, and we have worked with a couple before we engaged with Trafalgar. They didn’t live up to their initial promises, especially in timely response to connectivity requirements

Guardian MPS would have no hesitation in recommending Trafalgar Wireless to other businesses looking for IoT connectivity. They provide a robust and comprehensive service for a competitive price, backed up by excellent support.” – Roger Leach, CTO

SureCam are one of the leaders in the Telematics industry, headquartered out of St. Louis, MO, with operations across North America and in Europe. Their goal is to improve fleet safety and minimize insurance claims costs, using network-connected dashcams. Their dashcams also provide GPS tracking, enabling the precise location of a vehicle to be continuously visible through their online application.

This service requires highly reliable and affordable connectivity, available across the whole North America, allowing fleets to move between the US, Canada and Mexico.

SureCam were looking for a data connectivity provider who provide such a service allied to a first class customer service and management tools, allowing SureCam to focus on its customers. To realize this, they needed a comprehensive but intuitive connectivity management platform.

This is what Max Hillman, President, had to say:

“SureCam is focused on providing the most intuitive, customer-centric video telematics solution in the market. For us, aligning with a data partner that was equally focused on the customer experience, and could align with our operational processes was a must.”

Trafalgar’s data management system and flexibility allowed great alignment with our data management policies and automated much of the work our customer success team had previously been burdened by. This has allowed our customer success and operations teams to spend more time supporting customers, and less time managing data.

We have been extremely impressed with the reliability of Trafalgar’s connectivity, data management platform, and supply chain.”

SureCam continue to grow rapidly, particularly in the SMB market, and Max identified scalability and customer focus as other key requirements:

“We are confident in Trafalgar’s ability to continue supporting SureCam’s growth and would strongly recommend them to other companies needing a data provider with a customer-first mentality.”
